Sundowners with a postcard view?

Our meeting in the CBD ended early so we decided to pop to the Cape Grace for a quick drink. It wasn’t a tough decision, a chilled glass of wine at Bascule Whiskey, Wine & Cocktail Bar situated on the international yacht marina, certainly beats sitting in the traffic!

We arrived just after 4:00pm and Bascule was buzzing with what looked like informal business meetings, and a number of tourists soaking up the spectacular view of Table Mountain.

We only had time for a quick drink, but next time we will definitely order the Tapas.  The prices were surprisingly reasonable and the portions looked much bigger than the average portion of Tapas.  The speciality is the Bascule Burger, wagyu beef, truffled mushroom sauce, fries and roasted garlic aioli.

The service was a bit slow, but I don’t think anyone wants to rush when they’re enjoying the views and the perfect setting.

We were disappointed that you had to buy vouchers for the wireless connectivity.  I can understand that they want to avoid the masses using their wifi for hours on end, but with the trend towards a mobile workforce I would have thought a 5 Star Hotel would at least offer a seamless wireless service.

Bascule opens daily at 10h00 for a great selection of tapas, and in the evening the sunlit terrace is transformed into a glamorous whiskey and cocktail bar!

You can’t beat these views!  Secure your spot at Bascule, to mingle with the rich and famous for an hour or two, or just sit and flirt with the idea of this billionaire lifestyle!

A high tech & high profile hotel to open in Cape Town’s Southern Suburbs!

The new Park Inn by Radisson is scheduled to open in Newlands in the next couple of weeks.  The hotel will be the first internationally branded hotel in Claremont / Newlands, a key upmarket business and residential node, in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Two things stood out during my site visit last week. Friendly welcoming staff who were clearly very proud of their new hotel, and the bright colours and vibrant décor of the hotel. It was very refreshing to be met with a bright yellow wall in the hotel reception area, green chairs in the conference rooms and bright finishes in the guest rooms with headboards that change colour!

The Park Inn by Radisson is focused on delivering the modern essentials of a great hotel experience that will resonate well with international and domestic travellers. High speed internet access, Apple & Samsung docking stations, a self service snack kiosk, (perfect for a snack on the run or to to stop a late night craving!), are some of the features that the guests will enjoy.

Whether you’re booking a holiday, or a accommodation for a business meeting, the Park Inn is ideally located. Just a few minutes away from Newlands Rugby Stadium and Newlands Cricket Ground, close to Kirtensbosch gardens and Cavendish shopping centre and perfectly positioned for meetings in the new corporate office park in Claremont.

Approx 14km from the airport the Park Inn by Radisson is a perfect choice for a conference venue.   The conference facilities, including 5 meeting rooms with the largest able to host 160pax.

The brightly coloured  Live-inn room is bold new concept that promises to deliver great food and friendly service in a modern setting. Fresh ingredients, charcoal grilled meats and fish, locally inspired specialities and classic dishes make up live-in room’s menu.
